The Atatürk Cup was a football competition in Turkey. In 1955, the Turkish Football Federation named the competition in honour of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Five clubs took place in the first edition: Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Adalet, and Vefa. Adalet won the first edition, with Fenerbahçe coming in second. The second edition was played in 1963, with Fenerbahçe winning the first of two cups. The third edition was played between the winners of the Prime Minister's Cup and the Presidential Cup in 1998 to memorialize the 60th anniversary of Atatürk's death. Fenerbahçe beat Beşiktaş 2–0 to win the second title. The fourth and last edition of the tournament was played as a de facto Super Cup in 2000. As Galatasaray won the double that season, the runners-up of the Turkish Super League (Beşiktaş) became their opponent. Beşiktaş defeated Galatasaray 2–1.[1][2]
