The B(h)ais Rajputs ({{IPA-hns|ˈbɛ̃ːs ˈraːdʒpuːt̪|pron}}) are a Rajput clan found in India and Pakistan.[1][2][3] HistoryTheir wealth caused Donald Butter, a visiting doctor who wrote Outlines of the Topography and Statistics of the Southern Districts of Oudh, and of the Cantonment of Sultanpur-Oudh, to describe the Bais Rajput in the 1830s as the "best dressed and housed people of the southern Oudh".[4] The Bais Rajputs were known for well-building.[4] ReligionSome Muslim Bais Rajput Thakurs experience problems in expressing their Thakur identity following the religion of Islam as it does not allow one to be self extravagant and flamboyant in acts.
