The Balm of Gilead was a rare perfume of the Bible, now used in figurative speech to signify a universal cure . Balm of Gilead or Balm in Gilead may also refer to: Nature- Balsam of Mecca, resin and other products of the Arabian tree species Commiphora gileadensis (syn. Commiphora opobalsamum).
