It occurs on the slopes and hilltops of the Stirling and Barren Ranges in southwest Western Australia. TaxonomyIt was first described by Ferdinand von Mueller in 1869 as Banksia quercifolia var. integrifolia. In 1981, Alex George promoted it to species rank. However, as there was already a plant named Banksia integrifolia (coast banksia), he had to choose a new name. CultivationSeeds do not require any treatment, and take 23 to 27 days to germinate.[1] References1. ^{{cite book | last1 = Sweedman | first1 = Luke | last2 = Merritt | first2 = David | year = 2006 | title = Australian seeds: a guide to their collection, identification and biology | publisher = CSIRO Publishing | isbn = 0-643-09298-6 | page = 203 }} {{Wikispecies|Banksia oreophila}}{{Wikisourcepar|Flora Australiensis/Volume V/CIV.
