The town is in the Shire of Moira local government area. Bearii is located {{convert|252|km|mi|0}} north of the state capital, Melbourne, {{convert|18|km|mi|0}} north of Waaia and is just south of the Barmah National Park. At the {{CensusAU|2011}}, Bearii had a population of 136,[1] by 2016 the town had 145 citizens.
