It is the capital of the tehsil of the same name, and sits at an altitude of 90 metres (298 feet).[1] The major tribes are Jamot and Baloch: Hanbhi, Kalwar,Mugheri Jatoi,Rind,Challgari,Bangulzai,Pahore,Abro,Airy,Goya,Gola,Machhi,Mastoi,Sheikh and also Hindus are main population of tehsil Bhag.[2] Present Chairman of Bhag Municipal Committee is Rais Allah Dita Hanbhi and the Vice Chairman is Maqsood Ahmed Hanbhi.
