Bharwari is a small city & Municipal Board with inclusion of 29 villages in surrounding area in Kaushambi district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It has good connectivity by Road(NH2) as well as by railway(Bharwari railway station) . Bharwari railway station is connected to Budh circuit also as Mahabodhi express which runs from Gaya to New Delhi & chauri chaura express which connects Sarnath(Varanasi) to Kaushambi daily haults here & some express train hault here.The Bharwari city is divided into 28 wards for which elections are held every 5 years. The Bharwari Nagar Palika has population of over 100000.

The population of Children with age of 0-6 is 2205 which is 12.78% of total population of Bharwari (NP). In Bharwari municipal board, Female Sex Ratio is of 945 against state average of 912. Moreover, Child Sex Ratio in Bharwari is around 878 compared to Uttar Pradesh state average of 902. The literacy rate of Bharwari city is approx 63% lower than state average of 67.68%. In Bharwari, Male literacy is around 72.08% while female literacy rate is 59.95%.

Bharwari Nagar Panchayat has total administration over 2,975 houses to which it supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage. It is also authorized to build roads within Nagar Panchayat limits and impose taxes on properties coming under its jurisdiction.

Demographics

Bharwari has an average literacy rate of 76.15%, higher than the national average of 67.68%; with male literacy of 82.08% and female literacy of 69.95%. 12.78% of the population is under 6 years of age.Bharwari is very close in NH-2(2KM)Kokharaj police station and ganga river also.in bharwari NP V.S.M. College which is crown of kaushambi district.Very polished and dump free roads surrounding with greenery.

Sports

Late Honorary Captain Mohammad Aslam Siddiqui 'VSM' was a heavyweight boxer from Bharwari, Kaushambi-Uttar Pradesh. He dominated the Asian and Indian amateur boxing territory for almost 5 consecutive years. He was the winner of the Silver medal in the 1973 and 1975 Asian Amateur Boxing Championship held in Thailand and Yokohama respectively. He has won the National Championship in the heavyweight category an astounding 5 consecutive years (1973-78). Hon'ble Gyani Zail Singh, 7th President of India awarded the VISHISHT SEWA MEDAL (VSM) on 21 May 1986 for his excellent achievement in International Boxing and Hon'ble Shankar Dayal Sharma, 9th president of India awarded the Honorary Captain Rank for his excellent contribution in the Indian Army on 26 January 1993. Apart from International Boxing medals and honored, he got lots of medals for fighting in several Indian Army Operations and War against Pakistan. He ended on a very good note in Mecca (Saudi Arabia) during the Hajj in Dec 2007. Below are the major achievements of Captain.

9 May 1973 - Mohammad Aslam Siddiqui bagged the SILVER MEDAL in the Heavy Weight at the Asian Amateur Boxing Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand. He had earlier won the NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT CROWN at Jamshedpur in April 1973.

28 Sep 1975 - Mohammad Aslam Siddiqui bagged the SILVER MEDAL in the Heavy Weight Divisions at the Asian Boxing Championship held in Yokohama, Japan. He also won with ease at the YMCA All India Boxing Meet in May 1975. He also clinched the Service Heavy Weight Boxing Crown held in March 1975.
