Bitti borders the following municipalities: Alà dei Sardi, Buddusò, Lodè, Lula, Nule, Onanì, Orune, Osidda, Padru. HistoryThe commune takes its name from the Sardinian bitta (female deer). Already existing in Roman times, it is mentioned in 1170 as Bitthe.
