The nearest hamlet, Kugluktuk, Nunavut, is {{convert|15.8|km|abbr=on}} away. Historically, this area was occupied by the Kogluktogmiut subgroup of Copper Inuit.[3] In 1978, the portion of the Territorial Park northwest of the Coppermine River was designated the Bloody Falls National Historic Site of Canada, as the archaeological remains of pre-contact hunting and fishing sites in the area form a record of the presence of Pre-Dorset, Thule, First Nation and Inuit peoples over the last 3000 years.[4] References{{Commons category|Kugluk/Bloody Falls Territorial Park|Bloody Falls}}1. ^{{cite web|url=http://travelingluck.com/North%20America/Canada/Nunavut/_5903980_Bloody+Fall.html#local_map|title=Bloody Fall, Nunavut, Canada |accessdate=2008-08-25|last=|first=|coauthors=|date=|work=|publisher=travelingluck.com}} {{NHSC}}{{coord|67|44|37|N|115|22|03|W|type:river_region:CA-NU_scale:10000|display=title|name=Bloody Falls}}{{KitikmeotNU-geo-stub}}2. ^{{cite book|title=Historical dictionary of the Inuit|last=Stern|first=Pamela|authorlink=|coauthors=|year=2004|publisher=Scarecrow Press|location=Lanham|isbn=0-8108-5058-3|page=149|pages=|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=Xa_Pq8X_MIsC|accessdate=January 26, 2011}} 3. ^{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=-NhBAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA50&lpg=PA50&dq=%22Prince+Albert+Sound%22&source=web&ots=P6Beu2wRa-&sig=3aBgqcaIUflYJwZp4-8ySVYkKTY&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=3&ct=result|pages=27|title=The Stefánsson-Anderson Arctic Expedition of the American Museum: Preliminary Ethnological Report|last=Stefansson|first=Vilhjalmur|year=1914|publisher=The Trustees of the American Museum|location=New York|oclc=13626409}} 4. ^{{DFHD|321|Bloody Falls National Historic Site of Canada|29 October 2013}} 2 : National Historic Sites in Nunavut|Waterfalls of Nunavut |
