Previously he was a media reporter for The New York Times and the editor of TVNewser. Life and careerStelter was born in Damascus, Maryland, the son of Donna and Mark Stelter.[1] He attended Damascus High School, graduating in 2003,[2] followed by Towson University where he served as editor-in-chief of The Towerlight from 2005 to 2007. While still a student, he created TVNewser, a blog about television and cable news which he later sold to Mediabistro.{{citation needed|date=August 2018}} He graduated from Towson in May 2007, and joined The New York Times as a media reporter later in July of that year, aged 22.[3] In November 2013, he became the new host of CNN's Reliable Sources[4] and also chief media correspondent.[5] Personal lifeStelter dated CNBC anchor Nicole Lapin in 2011.[6] He stated he had to inform his editor of the relationship, and he agreed not to cover CNBC while they were dating.[7] On February 22, 2014, he married Jamie Shupak[1] in a Jewish ceremony.[8] His wife is a traffic anchor for New York TV station NY1.[9][10] Stelter was raised Methodist, and is non-religious.[11] The couple plan to raise their children as Jewish.[11] On May 21, 2017, their daughter was born.[12] The Stelters live in the Lincoln Square, Manhattan neighborhood on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.[13] Bibliography
