It is about a Jewish American family living in Brooklyn in the middle 1950s. The premise was partially based on the childhood of executive producer and creator Gary David Goldberg.[1] Brooklyn Bridge won a Golden Globe for Best Television Comedy or Musical and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1992. Throughout the TV show there are various references betraying the fact that the family are from Poland/Russia and that they are Jews. Also, there are various references and actions showing how much the young boys feel as Americans. The cast was led by Marion Ross; Art Garfunkel performed the theme song, which was titled "Just Over the Brooklyn Bridge."[1] In 1997, "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" was ranked #46 on TV Guide{{'}}s 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time.[2] DVD releaseGary David Goldberg had announced on his official website that CBS Home Entertainment (with distribution by Paramount Home Entertainment) would release the complete series of Brooklyn Bridge on DVD in Region 1 in the middle of May 2010.[3] However, the DVD was later delayed indefinitely.[4]EpisodesSeason 1 (1991–92){{Episode table |background=#9C9C00 |total_width=70 |overall=5 |season=5 |title=18 |director=14 |writer=24 |airdate=18 |episodes={{Episode list|Title=When Irish Eyes Are Smiling |DirectedBy = Sam Weisman |WrittenBy = Gary David Goldberg |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|9|20}} |EpisodeNumber=1 2 |EpisodeNumber2=1 2 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Death in Brooklyn |DirectedBy = Sam Weisman |WrittenBy = Brad Hall |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|9|27}} |EpisodeNumber=3 |EpisodeNumber2=3 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Boys of Summer |DirectedBy = Bradley Silberling |WrittenBy = John Masius |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|10|4}} |EpisodeNumber=4 |EpisodeNumber2=4 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Sylvia's Condition |DirectedBy = Sam Weisman |WrittenBy = Peter Schneider & Ben Cardinale |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|10|18}} |EpisodeNumber=5 |EpisodeNumber2=5 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=What I Did for Love |DirectedBy = Donald Reiker |WrittenBy = Theresa Rebeck |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|10|25}} |EpisodeNumber=6 |EpisodeNumber2=6 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=War of the Worlds |DirectedBy = |WrittenBy = |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|11|6}} |EpisodeNumber=7 8 |EpisodeNumber2=7 8 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Dinner at Six |DirectedBy = Sam Weisman |WrittenBy = Gary David Goldberg & Brad Hall |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|11|13}} |EpisodeNumber=9 |EpisodeNumber2=9 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Old Fools |DirectedBy = Kristoffer Tabori |WrittenBy = Peter Schneider & Ben Cardinale |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|11|20}} |EpisodeNumber=10 |EpisodeNumber2=10 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Saturday |DirectedBy = Donald Reiker |WrittenBy = Brad Hall & John Masius |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|11|27}} |EpisodeNumber=11 |EpisodeNumber2=11 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Get a Job |DirectedBy = Sam Weisman |WrittenBy = Brad Hall |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|12|8}} |EpisodeNumber=12 |EpisodeNumber2=12 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Where Have You Gone, Jackie Robinson? |DirectedBy = Sam Weisman |WrittenBy = Gary David Goldberg & Brad Hall |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1991|12|11}} |EpisodeNumber=13 |EpisodeNumber2=13 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=The Gift |DirectedBy = Seth Freeman |WrittenBy = Seth Freeman & Brad Hall |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1992|1|1}} |EpisodeNumber=14 |EpisodeNumber2=14 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Boys and Girls Together: Part 1 |DirectedBy = |WrittenBy = |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1992|1|15}} |EpisodeNumber=15 |EpisodeNumber2=15 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Boys and Girls Together: Part 2 |DirectedBy = |WrittenBy = |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1992|1|22}} |EpisodeNumber=16 |EpisodeNumber2=16 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Boys and Girls Together: Part 3 |DirectedBy = |WrittenBy = |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1992|1|29}} |EpisodeNumber=17 |EpisodeNumber2=17 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=On the Road |DirectedBy = |WrittenBy = |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1992|2|5}} |EpisodeNumber=18 |EpisodeNumber2=18 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Great Expectations |DirectedBy = |WrittenBy = |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1992|3|4}} |EpisodeNumber=19 |EpisodeNumber2=19 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=A Tale of Two Boroughs |DirectedBy = |WrittenBy = |OriginalAirDate={{Start date|1992|3|11}} |EpisodeNumber=20 |EpisodeNumber2=20 |ShortSummary= |LineColor=9C9C00 }}{{Episode list |Title=Rainy Day |DirectedBy = Michael J.
