HistoryThe station was opened by the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) on 19 July 1926.[3] FacilitiesIn Autumn 2008, a Shere self-service ticket machine was installed opposite the booking office window, replacing an earlier Avantix self-service machine. Station layoutThe station has four platforms in total, two island platforms on both sides, but only platforms 1 & 4 are used regularly, platforms 2 & 3 are only used during line disruption or engineering work. The west side serves northbound services and another island platform serving southbound services which lies to the east. The station car park parallels the island platforms to the east. The platforms are reached by a steep footbridge, the station building (an LNER survivor) being a part-time booking office at the NW extremity of the station. Route{{rail start}}{{s-rail-national|toc=Great Northern|route=Great Northern stopping|previous=Potters Bar|next=Welham Green}}{{end}}ServicesThere is a basic weekday off-peak service of 3tph in both directions, southbound to Moorgate and northbound to Welwyn Garden City. This drops to every half-hour at weekends. Late evening & weekend services used to run to and from Kings Cross rather than using the Northern City Line, but from 13 December 2015 Great Northern introduced a weekend service on the line and extended evening hours until the end of service.[6][7] References1. ^{{cite book | last=Yonge | first=John | editor-last=Jacobs | editor-first=Gerald | title=2: Eastern | edition=3rd | series=Railway Track Diagrams | date=September 2006 | origyear=1994 | publisher=Trackmaps | location=Bradford on Avon | isbn=0-9549866-2-8 | at=map 15A }} 2. ^{{cite book | last=Baker | first=S.K. | title=Rail Atlas Great Britain & Ireland | edition=11th | date=April 2007 | origyear=1977 | publisher=Oxford Publishing Co | location=Hersham | isbn=978-0-86093-602-2 | id=0704/K | at=p. 24, section A2 }} 3. ^{{cite book | last=Butt | first=R.V.J. | title=The Directory of Railway Stations | year=1995 | publisher=Patrick Stephens Ltd | location=Yeovil | isbn=1-85260-508-1 | id=R508 | page=46 }} 4. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/sjp/BPK/plan.html | title=Brookmans Park Station Plan | work= | publisher=National Rail | archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110629185247/http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/sjp/BPK/plan.html | archivedate=2011-06-29 | deadurl=no }} 5. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/Main.php?sEvent=StationInfo&crs_code=BPK | publisher=First Capital Connect | title=Brookmans Park | archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20081231135102/http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/Main.php?sEvent=StationInfo&crs_code=BPK | archivedate=2008-12-31 | deadurl=no }} 6. ^GB eNRT December 2015 Edition, Table 24 7. ^"Seven-day-a-week service to the City better for late-returning commuters and weekend shoppers" Great Northern website article 5 November 2015; Retrieved 2 February 2016 External links{{stn art lnk|BPK|AL97SS}}{{coord|51.721|N|0.205|W|type:railwaystation_region:GB|display=title}}{{Great Northern Route}}{{Hertfordshire railway stations}}{{TSGN and SE Stations|Northern City=y|SE None=y|SN None=y}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Brookmans Park Railway Station}}{{EastEngland-railstation-stub}} 4 : Railway stations in Hertfordshire|Former London and North Eastern Railway stations|Railway stations opened in 1926|Thameslink railway stations |
