It is currently the second tier in Brunei football, with two promotion places up for grabs. The championship winner will receive B$7,000 ($5,000 USD) as prize money, trophy and gold medal. Best player will get B$400 ($290 USD). Fair play will get B$500 ($360 USD). Highest goal scorer will get B$300 ($220 USD). first runner up will receive B$5,000 ($3,600 USD), trophy and silver medal. second runner up will receive B$3,000 ($2,200 USD), trophy and bronze medal. HistoryFrom 1985 to 1993, the champions of the four districts (Belait, Brunei-Muara, Temburong, Tutong) entered into the National Championship playoff. The tournament was not played between 1994 and 2001. The Brunei Premier League was created in 2002, and it was the top-tier league until 2012, when it was replaced by the Brunei Super League.
