In 1895 the Essex portion of Kedington was transferred to Clare Rural District, West Suffolk.[1] Meetings of the Bumpstead RDC continued to be held in Kedington, however.[2] Bumpstead Rural District was abolished in 1934 by a County Review Order and merged into the Halstead Rural District.[1] References1. ^1 2 3 {{cite book |last=Youngs |first= Frederic A, Jr. |title=Guide to the Local Administrative Units of England, Vol.I: Southern England |page=602 |year=1979 |publisher=Royal Historical Society |location=London |isbn=0-901050-67-9}} 2. ^{{cite web | title=Steeple Bumpstead | url=http://www.historicaldirectories.org/hd/makepdf.asp?fn=E:\\ZYIMAGE\\DATA\\HISTDIR\\TIF\\BCL801~1\\000032NW.TIF | work=Kelly's Directory of Essex | publisher= | date=1914 | page=590 | accessdate=2009-04-12}}
