词条 | Byron King-Noel, Viscount Ockham |
释义 |
Lord Ockham was the eldest son of William King-Noel, 1st Earl of Lovelace and his wife, Ada Lovelace, the world's first computer programmer. His maternal grandparents were the poet Lord Byron and Annabella Byron, 11th Baroness Wentworth. He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Royal Navy, although he deserted, worked his passage back to Britain and became a shipyard worker - probably working for the Blyth shipping chandlers (Limehouse).[2]{{Verify source|date=July 2018}} As his mother predeceased him, he inherited the barony of Wentworth from his grandmother,[1] but two years later died unmarried and childless at the age of 26, and his barony passed to his brother, Ralph, who was then styled Viscount Ockham and later inherited the earldom.[3][4] References1. ^1 {{cite book|last=Hogg|first=Jabez|last2=Glaisher|first2=James|title=The Illustrated London almanack|year=1859|publisher=Illustrated London News|page=21}} {{s-start}}{{s-reg|en}}{{succession box | title=Baron Wentworth | before=Anne Noel-Byron | after=Ralph King-Milbanke | years=1860–1862}}{{s-end}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Ockham, Byron King-Noel, Viscount}}{{England-baron-stub}}2. ^Burke's Peerage 107th Edition, London, 2003 in volume 2, page 2417. 3. ^{{cite web|title=Ralph Gordon Noel King, 2nd Earl of Lovelace |last=Lundy |first=Darryl |url=http://www.thepeerage.com/p2744.htm#i27438|publisher=thePeerage.com|accessdate=1 May 2011}}{{Unreliable source?|failed=y |date=February 2013}} 4. ^{{cite web|title=Byron Noel King, Viscount Ockham |last=Lundy |first=Darryl |url=http://www.thepeerage.com/p2744.htm#i27437|publisher=thePeerage.com|accessdate=1 May 2011}}{{Unreliable source?|failed=y |date=February 2013}} 5 : Barons Wentworth|British courtesy viscounts|Heirs apparent who never acceded|1836 births|1862 deaths |
