Canadian Club (of) Toronto is a speakers' podium in Toronto which meets several times a month to hear speeches given by invited guests from the fields of politics, law, business, the arts and the media.

In the days before radio and television, the Club provided a chance for influential Torontonians to have contact with Canadian and international leaders in a variety of fields. Some speakers to address the club since 2000 are Paul Martin,[1] Stephen Harper,[2] Vladimir Putin,[3] Justin Trudeau,[4] Paul Bremer,[5] Bob Rae,[6] Michael Dell,[7] Jean Charest,[8] John de Chastelain,[9] Hillary Clinton,[10] Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo,[11] Margaret Atwood,[12] Karen Kain,[13] The Right Honourable David Johnston,[14] David Frum,[15] Pamela Wallin,[16] David Suzuki,[17] Beverley McLachlin,[18] Dalton McGuinty,[19] Belinda Stronach,[20] David Dodge,[21] Pinball Clemons,[22] Galen Weston Jr.,[23] Louise Arbour,[24] Adrienne Clarkson,[25] Donovan Bailey,[26] Mark Carney[27] and Jack Layton.[28]

Canadian Club has long had a role in Canadian life as an opinion-formation vehicle for some of Toronto's most prominent citizens.

Canadian Club of Toronto was founded in 1897 by a Hamilton journalist.[29] Speeches were initially given in the evening, but starting in 1902, the club moved to its present lunchtime format.[30] In 1903, several members of the Canadian Club, concerned that the club was not sufficiently opposed to the wave of anti-British sentiment being expressed in the wake of the Alaskan Boundary Tribunal decision, left the Canadian Club to found the more pro-British Empire Club of Canada.[30]

Today, Canadian Club Toronto hosts events in a number of different formats, but most events use the traditional luncheon style.[31]
