Cape Malabata ({{lang-fr|Cap Malabata}}; {{lang-es|Punta Malabata}}; {{lang-ar|رأس ملباطا}}, Ras Malabata, or Rās al-Manār,{{sfnp|Lévi-Provençal|1936|p=650}} "Lighthouse Cape") is a cape located about {{convert|6|mi|sp=us|0}} east of central Tangier, Morocco, facing the Strait of Gibraltar.[1] The cape features a lighthouse and a medieval-style castle that was built in early 20th century. TunnelIn 2003, a Strait of Gibraltar crossing was proposed that would have linked Cape Malabata to Punta Paloma in Spain.[2][3] Years of studies have, however, made no real progress thus far.[4] See also
