The population density was 799.0/km2 (2,070.8/mi2). There were 4,245 housing units at an average density of 301.3/km2 (780.9/mi2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 64.50% White, 22.81% African American, 0.50% Native American, 3.72% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 3.13% from other races, and 5.27% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.35% of the population.[13] There were 3,946 households out of which 40.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.0% were married couples living together, 19.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.5% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size was 3.24.[13] In the CDP the population was spread out with 29.3% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 8.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.6 males.[13] The median income for a household in the CDP was $45,008, and the median income for a family was $49,443. Males had a median income of $36,160 versus $25,239 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $17,678. About 7.3% of families and 11.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 13.7% of those under age 18 and 7.5% of those age 65 or over.[13] Transportation
