GTS Celebrity Infinity is a Millennium Class cruise ship owned and operated by Celebrity Cruises. It was launched on June 9, 2000[2] as Infinity, and renamed Celebrity Infinity in 2007. During the summer cruising season, it cruises Alaska, and during the winter cruising season, South America; including Chile, Argentina, Panama, and Uruguay.

Features

The ship has a two-story dining room and a two-story theater. After being renovated in 2011 she was renamed Celebrity Infinity.

Celebrity Infinity originally featured a restaurant with original fixtures and china from the legendary ocean liner SS United States, which still holds the transatlantic speed record to this day. However, it was later replaced with Tuscan Grille, a restaurant pioneered on the company's Solstice-class ships.[3]

2016 accident

On June 3, 2016, Infinity was docking in Ketchikan, Alaska, and crashed into the dock on the port side, causing a hole in the ship's hull above the water line, and heavily damaging the dock. Winds were gusting to 45 miles per hour from the ship's starboard side at the time of the accident, which accelerated the ship's approach. There were no injuries.[4] In addition to the damage to the ship, the collision caused $2–3 million in damage to the dock.[5]
