Monrad Professor in the Social Sciences at Harvard University. BiographyRosenberg was born in New York City and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1956. He received both his master's degree (1957) and Ph.D. (1961) from Columbia University. Rosenberg taught at the University of Pennsylvania from 1963 until 2001. In 2001, he moved to Harvard University. He served as acting chairman of Harvard’s History of Science department in 2003-2004.
