Population: {{ru-census|p2010=19,803|p2002=20,496|p1989=22,116}} HistoryIt was founded in 1912 due to the construction of a railway between Novonikolayevsk and Barnaul.{{citation needed|date=May 2014}} The Cherepanovo station was opened in 1915.
