It is located off the Absheron Peninsula, {{convert|55|km|0|abbr=out}} east of Baku.[1] GeographyChilov Island is located {{convert|25|km|0|abbr=on}} off the eastern end of the Apsheron Peninsula in the Caspian Sea, {{convert|100|km|0|abbr=on}} from Baku. It is {{convert|10|km|0|abbr=on}} across and has an irregular shape with various headlands and inlets. Its highest elevation is {{convert|8|m|0|abbr=out}}. Administratively Chiloy Island belongs to the Khazar district of Baku.
