It lies approximately {{convert|25|km|mi|0}} north-east of Lubin, and {{convert|63|km|mi|0}} north-west of the regional capital Wrocław. The village has a population of 650. Chobienia is the site of a Renaissance castle, where Frederick II of Prussia stayed after the Battle of Kunersdorf in 1759.
