Streiff was born at Sarrebourg, Moselle. He was nominated chief executive officer of the European commercial aircraft manufacturer Airbus S.A.S. on July 2, 2006. He resigned from this position three months later, on October 9, 2006, and was replaced by Louis Gallois that same day. According to a former Airbus employee, Streiff found himself "isolated" in his plans to restructure Airbus and offered to quit. [1] One month later, Streiff was appointed the chief executive officer of the second-largest European car maker, PSA Peugeot Citroën. On Sunday, March 29, 2009, the board of PSA Peugeot Citroën ousted Streiff, stating publicly that a change in leadership was needed to "unlock the group's potential."[2] References1. ^{{cite news |url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6035357.stm |publisher=BBC |title=Streiff resigns as CEO of Airbus |date=October 9, 2006}} 2. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB123835106415266883 |publisher=Wall Street Journal |title=Peugeot Ousts Chief Executive Christian Streiff |date=March 29, 2009 | first=Leila | last=Abboud}} {{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Streiff, Christian}}{{Business-bio-stub}}{{PSA Peugeot Citroën}} 6 : 1954 births|Living people|Mines ParisTech alumni|People from Sarrebourg|Airbus people|French chief executives |
