Clepsydra plays nearly continuously to heights of {{convert|45|ft}}.[3] Named by T. B. Comstock during the 1878 Captain Jones expedition.[4] The name Clepsydra is derived from the Greek word for water clock. Prior to the 1959 Hebgen Lake earthquake, it erupted regularly every three minutes.[5] References1. ^{{cite rcn |id=3634|name=Clepsydra Geyser}} {{Lower Midway}}{{Wyoming}}2. ^{{cite gnis|1609409|Clepsydra Geyser}} 3. ^{{cite web |year=2006 |url=http://www.geyserstudy.org/geyser.aspx?pGeyserNo=CLEPSYDRA |title=Clepsydra Geyser |publisher=Geyser Observation and Study Association (GOSA)}} 4. ^{{cite book |last=Bauer |first=Clyde Max |title=The Story of Yellowstone Geysers |publisher=Haynes Inc. |location=St Paul, MN |year=1937 |pages=97}} 5. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.nps.gov/archive/yell/tours/fountainpaint/clepsydrageyser.htm |title=Clepsydra Geyser |work=Fountain Paint Pot Nature Trail Tour |publisher=National Park Service}} 4 : Geysers of Wyoming|Geothermal features of Teton County, Wyoming|Geothermal features of Yellowstone National Park|Geysers of Teton County, Wyoming |
