It is only known from the holotype collected in the Amazonas Region. Its generic placement is uncertain, for the moment it is retained as "Colostethus" within Dendrobatidae or Dendrobatoidea (consisting of Aromobatidae and Dendrobatidae).[2] Its natural habitat is moist lowland tropical forest.
