Crystal Day is an American actress and singer.

At 13 years old, Crystal entered a studio in Nashville, Tennessee and started recording songs for her first CD “Anything Can Happen”[1]

Crystal began taking acting lessons and had soon landed roles in several independent films such as Brain Blockers[2] and The Passing.[3] She also wrote and performed songs that were featured on the sound tracks of those two films.

She became a fixture in the Los Angeles theater scene, performing in several productions before moving to Nashville to focus on her music career.[4]

Day opened for multi-platinum recording artist Martina McBride. The South Boston, Virginia native traveled to Los Angeles to perform at Universal Studios for the World Championships of Performing Arts where she placed gold against top singers from around the world.[5] In addition, she became the youngest American to be invited to perform in the Amsterdam Music Festival. Here she had the opportunity to perform in front of 30,000 people daily. Her success in Amsterdam led her to begin touring the Eastern Hemisphere where she gained fans from Spain to China. “It completely changed my life, in the best way possible. My eyes were open to a world much bigger than I ever imagined.”{{citation needed|date=August 2016}}

Day started in the theater at the age of six. Her largest adolescent role came when she was eight when she starred as Marta Von Trapp (second youngest child) in the popular musical, The Sound of Music. The production was performed eight times a week. In addition, she was a part of the theater production of Tobacco Road, performing alongside Lin Shaye. She has also starred in several Verizon and Apple commercials, the Young and the Restless, Snow White, Grease and a few films that are set to be released in 2016.

She re-directed her focus back on music and teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Tom Weir at Studio City Sound (Kelly Clarkson, Lee Ann Womack, Willie Nelson, LMFAO). During that time, she also began taking classes at the Songwriting School of Los Angeles. After honing her songwriting craft in L.A., Crystal took her talents to Music City where she began co-writing with top-notch songwriters, joining forces with famed Nashville producer Biff Watson (Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum, Charles Kelley, Martina McBride, etc.) and developing material for her upcoming EP Brave, which contains five powerful songs that showcase her stunning writing ability and flawless vocals.

With musical influences including The Beatles, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain and Katy Perry, her biggest female role model is Oscar-winning actress Julie Andrews (The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, etc.). “I was at a wedding with her and I admit, I was fangirling. Your expectations are so high when you meet someone you’ve looked up to your whole life and she was everything I wanted her to be. She carries herself so classy. Definitely something I will always remember!”

Day's talents don’t stop at performing; the tunesmith is also an accomplished author. Having always turned to writing during tough times, she was inspired to write her first children's book after a tragic family event. The book has since developed into a series.
