It lies approximately {{convert|4|km|mi|0}} north-east of Lewin Kłodzki, {{convert|25|km|mi|0}} west of Kłodzko, and {{convert|92|km|mi|0}} south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement.
