She is the Saskatchewan Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan for the constituency of Humboldt.[1] She was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in the 1999 election, defeating New Democrat incumbent Eric Upshall. In the 2003 election, Watrous was dissolved and Harpauer was re-elected in the new constituency of Humboldt. ControversiesAs the Social Services Minister in 2008, it was later revealed that Harpauer had used private email for government-related manners. In one email she told a former campaign staffer "I will hire you by contract if need be to get around the rules defined by the [Public Service Commission]." In a later email to the same person, she stated "The Public Service Commission is getting all crappy about us hiring people without open competition … Blah … Blah … Blah. Lots of fun. I really don't care what they think!!" The former staffer said Harpauer told him to use private email because "we wanted to be free from the freedom of information requests."[2] In 2018, Harpauer was revealed to have twice stayed at a hotel with her partner on personal trips in which the stay was payed for by the village of Pinehouse. Harpauer did not disclose any gifts or benefits for the stays in her personal disclosure statements.[3] Cabinet positions{{s-start}}{{Canadian cabinet member navigational box header |ministry=Scott_Moe}}{{ministry box cabinet posts| post1preceded = cont'd from Wall Ministry | post1 = Minister of Finance | post1years = February 2, 2018– | post1note = | post1followed = Incumbent }}{{Canadian cabinet member navigational box header |ministry=Brad_Wall}}{{ministry box cabinet posts | post7preceded = Kevin Doherty | post7 = Minister of Finance | post7years = August 30, 2017–February 2, 2018 | post7note = | post7followed = cont'd into Moe Ministry | post6preceded = Jim Reiter | post6 = Minister of Government Relations | post6years = August 23, 2016–August 30, 2017 | post6note = | post6followed = Larry Doke | post5preceded = Jim Reiter | post5 = Minister of First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs | post5years = August 23, 2016–August 30, 2017 | post5note = | post5followed = Larry Doke | post4preceded = Tim McMillan[4] | post4 = Minister of Crown Investments | post4years = May 25, 2012–June 5, 2014 | post4note = | post4followed = Don McMorris | post3preceded = Ken Krawetz | post3 = Minister of Education | post3years = June 29, 2010–May 25, 2012 | post3note = | post3followed = Russ Marchuk | post2preceded = June Draude | post2 = Provincial Secretary of Saskatchewan | post2years = June 29, 2010–November 30, 2011 | post2note = | post2followed = Wayne Elhard | post1preceded = June Draude Kevin Yates[5] | post1 = Minister of Social Services | post1years = June 5, 2014–August 23, 2016 November 21, 2007–June 29, 2010 | post1note = | post1followed = Tina Beaudry-Mellor June Draude }}{{s-end}} References1. ^Saskatchewan Votes 2003: Humboldt. cbc.ca. 2. ^{{Cite news|url=http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/emails-show-sask-minister-acted-to-get-around-the-rules-in-hiring-1.4348337|title=Emails show Sask. minister acted to 'get around the rules' in hiring|work=CBC News|access-date=2017-12-06|language=en}} 3. ^{{Cite news|url=https://thestarphoenix.com/news/local-news/finance-minister-donna-harpauer-to-repay-hotel-stays-in-pinehouse-financed-by-village|title=Finance minister Donna Harpauer to repay hotel stays in Pinehouse financed by village|work=Star Phoenix|access-date=2018-12-19|language=en}} 4. ^as Minister Responsible for Crown Investments Corporation 5. ^as Minister of Community Resources External links
