During his time with Aberdeen, Bell won the Scottish League three times[4] and the Scottish Cup twice,[5][6] as well as the European Super Cup in 1983 (missing other trophy wins earlier that year due to injury). He was a league champion again with Rangers in 1987.[3] CoachBell took temporary charge of Clyde in January 2008, after Colin Hendry resigned from his position of manager.[7] Bell was in control of the team for the matches against Dundee and Hamilton Academical. He was sent from the dugout to the stand in both matches, and received a 10 match touchline ban.[8] Bell took charge of the Clyde reserve team for the 2007–08 campaign, and won the Reserve League Cup.[9] He was promoted to the position of assistant manager in June 2008.[10][11] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.fitbastats.com/scotlandu21/player.php?playerid=82 |title=Dougie Bell |work=www.fitbastats.com |publisher= |date= |accessdate=11 October 2012}} 2. ^1 2 3 {{Hugman|1313|accessdate=17 July 2018}} 3. ^1 {{cite news|url=http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/even-alex-ferguson-couldnt-stop-10688308|title=Alex Ferguson couldn't even stop me from quitting Aberdeen for my dream move to Rangers|publisher=Daily Record |date=26 June 2017|accessdate=1 December 2017}} 4. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.theguardian.com/football/that–1980s–sports–blog/2016/mar/09/aberdeen–scottish–football–alex–ferguson|title=When Aberdeen ruled Scottish football |date=9 March 2016 |accessdate=1 December 2017|publisher=The Guardian}} 5. ^{{cite news|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=GGgVawPscysC&dat=19820524&printsec=frontpage&hl=en|title=Dons run riot as tension melts (page 15) |newspaper=The Glasgow Herald (via Google news archive)|date=24 May 1982|accessdate=1 December 2017}} 6. ^{{cite news|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=GGgVawPscysC&dat=19840521&printsec=frontpage&hl=en|title=Dons' three-in-a-row cup feat (page 15) |newspaper=The Glasgow Herald (via Google news archive)|date=21 May 1984|accessdate=1 December 2017}} 7. ^Hendry resigns as Clyde manager BBC Sport 8. ^Touchline Bans And Appeal Clyde FC Website 9. ^McKay fires Clyde to Reserve Trophy Clyde FC Website – Retrieved 13 June 2008 10. ^Assistant manager position confirmed Clyde FC Website – Retrieved 13 June 2008 11. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.clydefc.co.uk/squad/staff/Dougie-Bell/ |work=Clydefc.co.uk |publisher=Clyde FC |title=Staff Profile: Dougie Bell |accessdate=18 August 2013 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20081011163203/http://www.clydefc.co.uk/squad/staff/Dougie-Bell/ |archivedate=11 October 2008}} External links
