The Eagles Nest is a complex of five rental villas in the Bay of Islands of New Zealand, a few kilometres north of Russell. Located on a headland above the sea with good views of the bay, the secured compound is the most expensive rental accommodation of New Zealand, with a single night costing up to a five-figure sum in New Zealand $ (as of the mid-2000s), depending which of the villas are chosen.[1][1] Guests are also provided with amenities like personal chefs and Porsche cars.[2] The 5-Star rated Eagles Nest has been awarded the "World Travel Award" for "New Zealand's Leading Resort" and is one of Conde Nast's Top 10 Spas in Australia and South Pacific.[3][4][5] It was also featured on The Great Outdoors TV show.[6] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.nzherald.co.nz/location/story.cfm?l_id=150&objectid=10371025 |title=$6000 a night to live like a Watson |author=Gibson, Anne |date=4 March 2006 |work=The New Zealand Herald |accessdate=29 September 2011}} 2. ^1 Russell (from the Lonely Planet New Zealand, 13th Edition, September 2006) 3. ^http://www.experiencenz.com/New-Zealand-Accommodation/Northland.cfm/Eagles-Nest-Luxury-Resort 4. ^http://www.travelplanner.co.nz/travel_services/moreinfo.cfm?ListingID=1786&sss=8%7C7%7C%20&sid=8 5. ^Conde Nast Traveler, May 2002 (scan provided at the Eagles Nest website) 6. ^Bay of Islands, New Zealand, Airing Date: August 8, 2005 (from the travel webpages of Yahoo External links{{commons category}}
