As it is close to the Bay of London it is known locally as London Airport.[2] The Bay of London may have been so called because of puffins breeding there: Old Norse lundi = "puffin", Old Norse á Lundunum = "at the puffins". Eday Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P573) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Orkney Islands Council). The aerodrome is not licensed for night use.[3] Airlines and destinations{{Airport-dest-list|Loganair|Kirkwall, North Ronaldsay }} References1. ^Eday - EGED 2. ^[https://www.visitscotland.com/info/towns-villages/eday-p238451 Eday Islands] at VisitScotland.com 3. ^Civil Aviation Authority Aerodrome Ordinary Licences {{webarchive |url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090327000000/http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/375/srg_asd_ordinarylicences.pdf |date=27 March 2009 }} External links
