It is endemic to Haiti and only known from the island of Tortuga, off the northwestern coast.[2] Its natural habitat is xeric hardwood forest at an elevation of about {{convert|400|m|abbr=on}} asl. It is a terrestrial frog occurring on rocks and in leaf litter.
