History and profileThe party was established as the Algerian National Youth Movement in 1997.[1] It was renamed as El Infitah before the 2007 elections.[1] It has a nationalist and progressive political leaning.[1] Its president is Omar Bouacha[1] and the secretary general is Naima Farhi.
