He appeared in 80 Segunda División matches over five seasons, scoring a combined ten goals for Real Madrid Castilla, Málaga, Guadalajara, Recreativo and Lugo. Club careerErnesto was born in Madrid. After unsuccessfully emerging through local Real Madrid's youth ranks (he never made it past the reserves), he went on to represent Málaga CF, SD Ponferradina and AD Alcorcón. On 27 October 2009, with Alcorcón, Ernesto scored against his first team in the Copa del Rey, for a final 4–0 home routing (4–1 on aggregate).[1] With that and his following club, CD Guadalajara, he achieved consecutive promotions to the second division,[2] scoring five goals combined in the process. Ernesto continued competing in the second level from the 2012–13 to the 2014–15 seasons, appearing rarely for Recreativo de Huelva[3] and CD Lugo due to injuries and also having a run-in with the latter's coach Quique Setién.[4][5] References1. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/oct/27/real-madrid-alcorcon-copa-del-rey|title=Real Madrid thrashed by lowly Alcorcón in Copa del Rey|newspaper=The Guardian|first=Sid|last=Lowe|date=27 October 2009|accessdate=21 April 2011}} 2. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.marca.com/2011/06/26/futbol/mas_futbol/1309115427.html|title=El Guadalajara toca la gloria en Anduva|trans-title=Guadalajara reach the sky in Anduva|newspaper=Marca|first=José M.|last=Domínguez|language=es|date=26 June 2011|accessdate=21 December 2011}} 3. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.marca.com/2014/04/22/futbol/equipos/lugo/1398184208.html|title=Ernesto: "No entendí muy bien el objetivo de sus declaraciones"|trans-title=Ernesto: "I failed to understand the purpose of his statements"|newspaper=Marca|language=es|date=22 April 2014|accessdate=29 June 2018}} 5. ^{{cite news|url=https://ultimahora.es/deportes/real-mallorca/2015/04/03/148628/mallorca-lugo-marcan-como-objetivos-salvacion-ascenso.html|title=El Mallorca y el Lugo se marcan como objetivos la salvación y el ascenso|trans-title=Mallorca and Lugo's goals are survival and promotion|newspaper=Última Hora|language=es|date=3 April 2015|accessdate=29 June 2018}} External links
