Faridpur is a town and a nagar panchayat in Bareilly district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Under British rule Ram Kumar Agrawal was the Jameendar, Collector and Honorary Magistrate. His son Lala Laxmi Narayan Agrawal became the last Collector and Honorary Magistrate of this town. Faridpur is known for Jari work, Sarrafa (gold and silver jewelry).

Transport

Pitambarpur is the railway station of Faridpur.

Demographics

Faridpur has an average literacy rate of 66%, lower than the national average of 74%: male literacy is 67%, while female literacy is 64%. In Faridpur, 15% of the population is under 6.[2]
