Faustus first appeared in Captain Atom Vol. 2, #89 (December 1967). The character was created by writer Dave Kaler and artist Steve Ditko. Fictional character biographyFaustus is a black cat from Earth "somewhere in the far future". He journeys to the 20th century alongside a nameless federal agent from the future masquerading as a supervillain known as 13 in order to prevent an experimental missile falling into the hands of The Ghost, an enemy of the superhero Captain Atom. After their mission is completed, Faustus and 13 return to the future. Powers and abilitiesFaustus has the ability to teleport and to manifest various weapons (ropes, umbrellas, sound bubbles) seemingly out of nowhere and as if by magic.
