{{EngvarB|date=June 2018}}{{Use dmy dates|date=June 2018}}{{refimprove|date=July 2015}}{{for|Australian rules football institution|Australian Football Hall of Fame}}The FFA Football Federation Australia Hall of Fame[1] aims to celebrate and highlight the achievements of the all-time top Australian football talents, as well as non-Australian players, managers and other participants who have become significant figures in the history of the Australian game. New members are added each year, with inductions announced towards the year's end. The Hall was first established as the Soccer Hall of Fame in 1999. SelectionAll nominees must be Australian citizens. For non-players, inclusion is based on "overall sustained contribution to the game". Only retired players may be included.[2] AwardsPreviously, there were several categories based on the nature of an individuals contribution (three levels, each split into two awards for players and non-players). From highest to lowest, these were: - Hall of Champions (players) / Hall of Honour (non-players)
- Medal of Excellence (players) / Roll of Honour (non-players)
- Award of Distinction (players) / Roll of Honour (non-players)
These distinctions are no longer drawn, with the only divide being between players and "participants" (non-players). 1999 Inaugural inducteesPlayers{{col-begin}}{{col-3}}- {{flagicon|AUS}} George Smith
