It is part of the Mineral County Schools district. The first graduating class was in 1977. ArtsThe high school hosts three separate instrumental ensembles, including marching band, concert band, and a jazz ensemble. The marching band was selected to represent West Virginia in the second Inaugural Parade of President Barack Obama on January 21, 2013.[4] In 2017, the band was selected to represent West Virginia in the Inaugural Parade of President Donald Trump on January 20, 2017.[5] The drama department hosts four events throughout the year, including dinner theater, a county wide talent competition, a Christmas program for students, and the Mr. Falcon competition.
