It is about {{convert|110|km|mi}} east of Rome and about {{convert|40|km|mi}} east of Frosinone. GeographyGallinaro is located in the Comino Valley and is crossed by Rio Mollo, a tributary river of Melfa. It borders the municipalities of Alvito, Atina, Picinisco, San Donato Val di Comino and Settefrati. The town is {{convert|21|km|mi}} from Sora, {{convert|25|km|mi}} from Cassino, {{convert|48|km|mi}} from Frosinone and {{convert|138|km|mi}} from Rome. HistoryThe town was first mentioned in 1023, probably founded by the counts of Sora. In 1067 it became property of the counts of Aquino.
