He made a total of 198 League appearances during his time at the club, although the number of matches he played was limited by the presence of Steve Clarke. Hall was a member of the Chelsea team that won the 1990 Full Members Cup at Wembley Stadium.[3] He moved to Sunderland in January 1996, having originally been on loan there.[4] Hall went on to make 48 League appearances for the club.[2] Hall joined Swindon Town in May 1998 and played in most games during his first two seasons. Following the arrival of Colin Todd he was told he could leave on a free transfer, but continued training with the team and he ended up playing a few more matches for them, before leaving in May 2001 to join Havant & Waterlooville. In total he made 97 senior appearances for Swindon, scoring 3 goals.[5] He won 9 international caps for Wales, first being selected for the senior side on 23 March 1988, in a 2–1 friendly defeat to Yugoslavia. His last cap came on 29 April 1992 in a 1–1 friendly draw with Austria.[6] References1. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.worldfootball.net/player_summary/gareth-hall/ |title=Gareth Hall |website=worldfootball.net |accessdate=22 January 2019}} 2. ^1 2 3 {{hugman|8068|accessdate=22 January 2019}} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.sporting-heroes.net/football/chelsea-fc/gareth-hall-6668/biography-part-1-1986-87-1989-90_a11513/ |title=Gareth Hall – Chelsea FC – Biography (Part 1) 1986/87–1989/90 |publisher=Sporting Heroes |accessdate=22 January 2019}} 4. ^{{Cite book |title=Rothmans Football Yearbook 1996–97 |editor-last=Rollin |editor-first=Glenda |date=1996 |publisher=Headline |isbn=0-7472-7781-8 }} 5. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk/Person.asp?PersonID=HALLGARE |title=Gareth Hall |website=Swindon-Town-FC.co.uk |publisher=Richard Banyard |accessdate=14 April 2012}} 6. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.sporting-heroes.net/football/wales/gareth-hall-6668/welsh-caps-1988-92_a11514/ |title=Gareth Hall: Wales |publisher=Sporting Heroes |accessdate=25 October 2012}} External links
