Suiter (January 18, 1945 – October 23, 1982) was an American professional basketball player.[1] Suiter was a 6'9" center from Midwestern State University, and played for the Mustangs from 1966 to 1969.[1] He played one season (1970–71) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and averaged 1.4 points in 30 games.[2] On October 23, 1982, Suiter was murdered near Rio Rancho, New Mexico, after an argument over a gambling debt. In 1983, Gary Randall Hoxsie was sentenced to life in prison for killing Suiter.[3] Notes1. ^{{cite web |title=Gary Suiter - MSU Athletics |url=https://msumustangs.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3459 |website=MSU Mustangs |accessdate=5 January 2019}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Suiter, Gary}}{{1940s-US-basketball-bio-stub}}2. ^1 [https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/suitega01.html "Gary Suiter"]. basketball-reference.com. 3. ^"Suiter was goofball, but he was our goofball" 7 : 1945 births|1982 deaths|American men's basketball players|Centers (basketball)|Cleveland Cavaliers players|Midwestern State Mustangs men's basketball players|Undrafted National Basketball Association players |
