Geetha Arts (Telugu: గీతా ఆర్ట్స్) is an Indian film production and distribution company established in 1972 by Allu Aravind, brother-in-law of Chiranjeevi. The company is based in Hyderabad and has produced around 50 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi languages.

Geetha Arts though came to be known for its big-budget blockbusters, the company marked its beginning by producing a small-budget movie Banthrotu Bharya in 1974. The company delivered several successful projects from the beginning, the film Vijetha , a family drama starring Chiranjeevi set the trend of blockbusters for Geetha Arts. Since then, Geetha Arts has made movies mostly featuring superstars such as Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth, V Ravichandran, Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Ganesh, Nani, Ram Charan, and Vijay Deverakonda.

After consolidating the film production business, Geetha Arts expanded its presence into film distribution, exhibition and digital content. In the highly fragmented and unorganized industry, Geetha Arts is one of the few players that has streamlined its business and evolve into an integrated film conglomerate.

Film production

As a production house, Geetha Arts has been gaining popularity in the last few years. Jalsa, a Telugu film starring Pawan Kalyan grossed $10 million at the box office. It was the biggest hit of 2008 and the second highest grosser amongst Telugu films. Their next – Ghajini, a Bollywood movie starring Aamir Khan grossed over $45 million at box office, making it the highest grossing Indian film. The smashing blockbuster Magadheera, a big-budget swords and sandal epic that grossed $25 million at the box office. The movie was not only the highest-grossing Telugu film ever, but the highest grossing Indian movie in 2009. The movie is a crown jewel in Telugu cinema for two reasons. Magadheera unlocked the box office potential of Telugu films by doing numbers that only a few big-budget Bollywood blockbusters can match. Secondly, with its Hollywoodesque grandeur, special effects and action episodes it showed the Telugu cinema can churn out films of international standards.
