He is the second child of George Randolph Hearst, Jr. and Mary Astrid Thompson and great-grandson of William Randolph Hearst. Hearst was previously the Director of Operations of the Times Union and then its Associate Publisher and General Manager.[1] He is the chairman of the board of trustees of the Albany Institute of History & Art,[2] a member of the board of directors of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center [3] and St. Peter's Health Care Services, a hospital in Albany.[4] He sued the producer of the "reality-TV" movie Hopelessly Rich, which aired on VH1 in 2003, over his portrayal in the made-for-TV movie by a con man who had stolen his identity and impersonated Hearst to the producers.[5][6] He is part of the ownership group of the Albany Empire of the Arena Football League, which began play in 2018.[7] References1. ^Business Week - July 8, 2002 - Parting the Veil at Hearst 2. ^http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=767176 3. ^Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Board of Directors {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20061229231922/http://www.spac.org/spac-about/spac-about.asp?varID=5 |date=2006-12-29 }} 4. ^[https://web.archive.org/web/20071013071905/http://www.stpetershealthcare.org/press.cfm?ID=495&PID=164 St. Peter's Health Care Services Press Release, Tuesday October 17, 2006 - Massry Family Donates $1 Million To Name Atrium in St. Peter’s Expansion.] Photo caption identifies Hearst as a director. 5. ^{{cite news |url = http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/105540p-95475c.html |author = Rush & Molloy |title = VH1's 'Hearst': Any relation to reality? |publisher = New York Daily News |date = August 1, 2003 |accessdate = 2007-01-23 |deadurl = yes |archiveurl = https://web.archive.org/web/20060525213809/http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/105540p-95475c.html |archivedate = 2006-05-25 |df = }} 6. ^[https://www.imdb.com/news/sb/2004-07-15 IMDB, "News" Jul 15], 2004 7. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.arenafootball.com/articles/the-arena-football-league-returns-to-albany | archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20171030230907/http://www.arenafootball.com/articles/the-arena-football-league-returns-to-albany | dead-url=yes | archive-date=October 30, 2017 | title=The Arena Football League Returns to Albany | publisher=arenafootball.com | date=October 24, 2017 | accessdate=October 30, 2017}} External links
