Gerrit Smith Estate, in Peterboro, New York, was home to Gerrit Smith, 19th-century social reformer, abolitionist, and presidential candidate, and his wife, Ann Carroll Fitzhugh. The buildings remaining on the property that contribute to its historical significance are the Peterboro Land Office with an attached smokehouse, designated on the National Register of Historic Places on its own, a 19th-century barn and an adjacent building that was probably the laundry. The rest of the property contains numerous sites of buildings that no longer exist.

Outbuildings on his estate were used as refuges for escaped slaves, on the Underground railway.

It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2001.[1][3]
