It is a small fish at only {{convert|78.1|cm|ft|abbr=on}} TL in length in females and harmless to humans. Its depth range is {{convert|204|-|245|m|ft|abbr=on}}[2] on the upper continental shelf. It is known from only three specimens, and so biological and population data are lacking. It is likely not under threat due to its depth range, but its limited range may make it vulnerable to fishing.[1] Reproduction is oviparous and embryos feed solely on yolk.[2] References1. ^1 {{Cite journal | author = Heupel, M.R. | title = Parascyllium sparsimaculatum | journal = The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | volume = 2015 | page = e.T41843A68640026 | publisher = IUCN | date = 2015 | url = http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/41843/0 | doi = 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2015-4.RLTS.T41843A68640026.en | access-date = 23 December 2017}} 2. ^1 {{FishBase species | genus = Parascyllium | species = sparsimaculatum | month = January | year = 2017}}
