It is endemic to the eastern parts of the Fujian province, China, (in Fuzhou, Fuqing, Yongtai and Changle, Xianyou).[2] Its natural habitats are rivers, swamps, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, ponds, and irrigated land.
