Its seat is the town of Frombork, which lies approximately {{convert|11|km|mi|0}} west of Braniewo and {{convert|83|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn. The gmina covers an area of {{convert|125.82|km2|sqmi|1}}, and as of 2006 its total population is 3,791 (out of which the population of Frombork amounts to 2,529, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 1,262). Neighbouring gminasGmina Frombork is bordered by the gminas of Braniewo, Młynary, Płoskinia and Tolkmicko. It also lies next to the Vistula Lagoon. VillagesThe gmina contains the following villages having the status of sołectwo: Baranówka, Biedkowo, Bogdany, Drewnowo, Jędrychowo, Krzyżewo, Krzywiec, Narusa, Ronin and Wierzno Wielkie.
