The name is a portmanteau of GNU and Mozilla. Mozilla produces free and open-source software, but the binaries include trademarked artwork. Some Mozilla add-ons or plugins are also non-free software. GNU IceCat{{main|GNU IceCat}}GNUzilla encompasses GNU IceCat, the GNU version of Mozilla's Firefox web browser. All releases are posted in the same FTP folder. GNU IceCat is actively updated.
