Gemr Incorporated acquired GoAntiques, Inc. in May, 2015. Business profileGoAntiques inventory consists of antique, collectible, art and other merchandise for sale by member dealers. These items may be listed for sale on GoAntiques.com as retail items or via eBay Live Auctions. Along with TIAS.com, Lilter.com and Ruby Lane it is considered one of the 4 major online antique malls.[1] As of July 2014, the site lists more than 400,000 items from 1,800 dealers in 29 countries. HistoryAntique Networking, Inc. was founded in Ohio in 1994 by Kathy Kamnikar , and was online by June 1995 [2] placing it among the very first wave of online internet antiques & collectibles shops. Starting in 1996 it operated under the domain antiqnet.com until merger with Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based GoAntiques in 2001.[3] In 2003 the company moved headquarters from Baton Rouge to Columbus, Ohio under Chapter 11 Reorganization.[4][5] In October 2008, WorthPoint, Inc. acquired GoAntiques. GoAntiques has continued as a WorthPoint marketplace for buyers and sellers of art, antiques and collectibles. Users can go to the Worthopedia to get information about their collectibles, or for a fee ask an expert Worthologist to tell them approximately how much the item is worth. The site is also a way for collectors to meet up with other collectors, no matter how obscure their collection. Worthpoint offers a "7 day free trial" which requires authorizing a credit card to be billed if the trial is not cancelled.{{citation needed|date=August 2014}} In 2012, WorthPoint was named the winner of the 2012 Readers Choice Award for “Best Resources for Collectors.” [6] Also in 2012, WorthPoint.com ranked No. 505 on Inc. Magazine’s Fastest Growing Private Companies in America with more than 4.3-plus million monthly visitors.[7] In May 2015, Gemr acquired GoAntiques.
